Warm Thanksgiving Greetings to those who spent Thanksgiving of 1944 in the ETO and to their offspring and the people who keep the memories alive and research their history.
May the day be filled with the warmth of loved ones, good food, and good memories. The men of the 106th understood better than anyone the priceless value of these simple pleasures.

Hello Connie:
Gee! How I remember thanksgiving day 1944. My name was selected (along with other G.I.'s) to have THANKSGIVING DINNER at Buckingham palace with the King & Queen of England. Was I ever excited about that. WOW!
However, the Army had other plans for this Soldier. My Regiment, the 424th was on its' way to France by then. I don't recall any special dinner that day.
About that time many of us were on a little banana boat, in the English Channel, waiting for the L.S.T.'s to take us to shore in France (Omaha Beach).
Will not mention the rest of the story as I believe I told it last year.
