I am looking for any information on the Division's Radio net from the landing in France to the final pull out from St. Vith. Dupuy states that the Division went in under radio silence and never had a chance to coordinate the network, leading to commo problems during the battle. Any little tid bit or recollection would be a great help.

Phil,
Hope things are going well. Your need for any information in this area may have expired. But today as I was reading through Hugh Cole's account of the Battle of the Bulge I came across a note that I intended to copy to paste here. Somehow that didn't happen. I'll go back and try again, but essentially it said that while the 106th Division inherited the wired communication network set up by the 2nd division, the 106th did not have nearly as many hand held wireless devices as its predecessor.
This may be info you already had and it's not as good as a first hand account. But in case it's useful, I share it.

OK. I checked the exact quote from Hugh Cole's history. Here it is: "The extensive communications net prepared by the 2d Division, with wire to almost every squad and outpost, was left to the 106th, but unlike its predecessor the 106th had few sound-powered telephones."

also have remnants of individual crystals they were so presice with their orders when the radios were destroyed before they wanted to pull back to scoenberg they even broke the individual crystals to avoid them falling into enemy hands guess the remnants in the barn in schlausenbach were broken anyway and nobody thought about that....still an interesting portal into the 422nd past...
