To all the gallant soldiers who served in the Battle of the Bulge. My brother and I are going to try and re-trace the days when our dad fought in the Battle of Bulge. He was with the 424th Infantry and his name was G. Walter LaBorie. If anyone knew our dad or was at this location in Steinebruck, Belgium in December 1944, we would love to hear from you. Thank you - Bernard La Borie and Dan La Borie

The only information I can add, is what is found in the 106th Roster. There he is listed as Laborie, Gustave Walter, 2nd Lt, O-1057792, in the 424th Anti-Tank. He won the Combat Infantry Badge. The sources were the 424th Combat Infantry Badge List, and his name appeared in the CUB, date Jan & Feb, 1947. You can find that CUB on the site at www.IndianaMilitary.org. I have no further information, and I will change the spelling of his last name to include the capital "B". Thanks for writing. Please let us know if you do discover nay information. Jim West

Hi Bill- My brother and I have returned from our trip and had a wondeful time travelling through Sweden, Germany, and Belgium. We went to the locations of the engagements of the 424th, in Winterspelt and Steinebruck, along the Our River. I was not able to glean any more information than I posted under the thread 'Gustave Walter LaBorie'. Do you have any documents relating to your father's service? Floyd was a great help to me in deciphering what I had- perhaps he might help you too.
