Hello.
George Descheneaux (422nd) was my father's brother. He died about 25 years ago. We have done some Internet searching regarding December 1944 and thereafter. If anyone has any specific recollections or information, we would appreciate it if you would share them. George's immediately family has all passed on but the current generation has been studying what we can find.
Thank you.

If you can get a copy of the book St Vith - Lion in the Way you will find many references to your uncle. On the IndianaMilitary.org website there is also a lot of material about him.

An additional book suggestion came when I contacted the 106th historian: "In the book, Time For Trumpets, is a description of the mess we were in during the opening days of the battle. Col. Descheneaux is mentioned frequently . If a copy of that book can be found if will be a treasure of information for the family."Click on this link to go directly to the commentaries on both these books on this site. 106thdivision.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=booksPS. I just noted that there was reference on this site given to an order signed by your uncle. It is in the 3rd post under the following thread: 106thdivision.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=107
