I first met Chuck and his wife Mary at the Baraque de Fraiture crossroads in 2007. Each year since then they have visited Belgium and last year I had the privilege of helping him retrace his footsteps in Germany when the 106th was guarding POWs in the Rhine area. After a five hour drive he found the old hotel where he had been billeted in 1945. Chuck passed away two days ago at the age of 91. My sympathies go out to Mary and the rest of his family. He is missed. Gone but not forgotten. Chuck served with I-Company of the 424th Infantry Regiment during the Battle of the Bulge. Purple heart recipient and awarded the Bronze Star Medal. Carl
