I am sad to report the passing in the fall of 2010 of Raymond Cole the 331st Medical Battalion/ C.
It was not our common 106th connection. but genealogy. that brought us together. While he was getting information on his wife's line from my husband, Ray and I discovered he and I had common ancestors in colonial New England. He and my Dad were tromping through ancestral stomping grounds together when they discovered their common 106th connection and began comparing notes on the dates and locations where they were during the Battle of the Bulge.
Ray was a down to earth, solid individual who continued to be a credit to the world after his return from the war. It was a privilege to know this man.

Thank you Carl and Roger for your condolences. I will miss knowing that Ray is just an e-mail away. The story of our meeting was indeed an amazing one filled with a series of coincidences...
