I am also looking for stories and information about my grandfather: Joseph William Gagne, from Hartford, CT. He was a part of the 106th and fought in the battle of the bulge. I also know that he was captured by the Germans, but escaped. Anything that anyone can share would be greatly appreciated.

Time to stir the pot and move this post to the top of the list again...
I checked the last name in the roster Jim is compiling and found two by that name, but no Joseph so far. Jim is going through a lot of General Orders and may come across it yet.
Hope you've come across more info in the meantime...
