In December 1944 Bernard Patlen entered Belgium with the 424th infantry regiment of the 106th division. He was in a medical unit. He was in action in Trois-Ponts, Wanne, Halleux, Spineaux and Medell, where he was injured during a bombardment. . On the 12th of September the Institute for Veterans had the pleasure and the privilege of accompanying him and his children during this trip down memory lane.
