The Cub Memoriam lists him as a member of 422-B.
The Indiana Military Site Roster shows him in Division Hq AG Section;
looking for further verification of one or both of these assignments
According to the Roster, Max Salmon's name is mentioned in a couple of Cub Magazines:
December 1946
January/ February/ March 1992
The great new index of the Cubs that is in progress on the Division Association Site has the listing for
December 1946 Cub Magazine (3-5:36) translated: Volume 3; Issue 5; p. 36
This should narrow the search for the name for a bit but I'm having trouble spotting the page numbers...
Somewhere here a verification of the unit should exist...
