Comer, Richard J. Cpt. 424KI just received an inquiry about Captain Comer from the son of a man who served in his unit. The son said his father spoke of Captain Comer "as if he walked on water." He is wondering if contact is still possible... I said I'd post and do some sleuthing. If anyone out there knows more please let us know. GENERAL ORDERS: SILVER STAR AWARD0 September 17, 1945: www.indianamilitary.org/106ID/Rosters/REFERENCES/1945-077-SM-BS-AM-PH/277.htm You'll find the citation for Comer on the top of the 3rd page of these orders.

The 106th historian reported via e-mail that he has heard from several people that Captain Comer has passed away. Still, it would be interesting if anyone has additional information to add on his story...

I am Captain Comer's grandson. My grandfather, Richard J. Comer, passed away about 20 years ago. I have recently found a number of pictures that he had from WW II. I would like to share these pictures with the group.
