What's the word on Lt. Walker? I have copies of several letters he sent dad and all the H Co. men after war, bringing them up to date and looking for information. Always seemed to me that even after the war, he did what he could to look after his men.

Those are words of high praise coming from the offspring of someone in his unit... I'm looking for what I can find on Lt. Walker. His history of 422 H can be found on the Indiana Military Site: www.indianamilitary.org/106ID/Publications/CubInReview/04-UnitHistory.htm#Company_H,_422d_Infantry It begins: " This is a story of desperate men fighting with fierce valor‑a story of sacrifice, of teamwork, of devotion to duty."It sounds like his respect for the men of his unit was as strong as the respect your father felt for him. This history is also found in the book The Cub of the Golden Lion Passes in review and was published in the June-July 1948 issue of the Cub Magazine I think you are probably looking for more current information, but this is something... Copies of the letters he sent to his men would be interesting to see... Connie

That would be great!
I do understand about time... The world stays busy. And as the years pass it seems to take me longer to accomplish the same things. Just putting one foot in front of the other is sometimes a challenge.
Whatever you can add would be deeply appreciated whenever you have the time to add it!

I know exactly where they are, it's a matter of moving a mountain to get to them.

Oh... Can I relate to that scenario! When the time is right the mountains will move and we will enjoy the results!
