I have been exchanging questions info off board with a recent addition to the discussion board whose father was in the 106th Quartermaster Company.
We left off on a topic he was ready to move to the public forum & I said I'd start the thread.
I speculated that his dad probably crossed the Atlantic on the Wakefield-- with the Field Artillery and the Division Special Forces.
His answer was yes. The Wakefield was, indeed, the ship his Dad sailed on. He then added some very interesting notes on this and on his channel crossing.
I'll stop here and let him tell some of his father's story.
