Hello there!
So grateful to find a place to learn more about my beloved Papa and hopefully contribute to a community that works so hard to keep these memories, stories and sacrifices alive in the world today.
I am investigating the experience that my Papa had during the Bulge. Here's what I know about his service so far:
Name: Sterling Wilford Grieve

19 Days Lost Under AW 107
*Motor Vehicle Drivers Badge
From a photo I found from the Bulge Bugle submitted by H.W “Bill” Butler Jr.;
My Papa SW "Grieve" is nicknamed “Griever” and is listed as:
Ammunitions Squad, A & P Platoon, Headquarters Company, 424th Infantry Regiment, 106th Infantry Division.
I'll attach the image to this message.
“Bill” Butler Jr himself is listed as: Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 424th Infantry Regiment, 106th Infantry Division
I am interested in finding his comrades, identifying what he might have done during the bulge, get clarity on some family mysteries, share photos that I have with others that may be related to those pictured!
I own what looks like a military yearbook of sorts - it highlights their training at Fort Jackson. I cannot find my Papa in the book for some reason, but I will be glad to digitize the book and share photos with others who may be interested!
Please feel free to connect with me! I am happy to be a part of this community and I really do hope to support it and all of you in any way I can!
