Basil Robert King, 423rd Infantry, Company M. New item from The Republic, a newspaper in Columbus, Indiana dated 02 Jan 1945 Note: He was captured. Jim West posted a newspaper article about him following his return from captivity.
The post above was made on February 24, 2022. Today, February 27, 2022 I opened up a box of Dad's old letters, photos, and documents I found a Christmas card from Basil R. King and his wife to my parents, postmarked December 7, 1992. Basil was living in Walnut Creek, California at the time. After finding the news article above on newspapers.com I was surprised to see his name on that envelope.
