In April of 1944 1100 Army Air Corps Cadets were assigned to the 106th Infantry Division. There were approximately 30,000 air cadets in training at the time and all of them were sent to infantry divisions. This five page document identifies all of the cadets sent to the 423rd and their assigned units. My Dad is on the first page and he went to Company M. If you are not sure where your father, grandfather, uncle, etc. was serving before going to the 106th there is a chance you might find him on this list and learn where he was stationed and the type of aircraft he might have been flying if he had completed training. The original orders were printed on 13 inch paper, about an inch too long for my scanner. All the names are on the scan but in some cases a little bit of the information at the top is missing. This is a compressed version of the actual file. Since the original file is old and the typewriter ribbon was not fresh anything I do to compress the file makes it almost unusable. The Link below the file with take you to the 106th Infantry Division Association Facebook Group Page, where the usable file can be downloaded. If you are not a member you can ask to Join and an Admin will take care of it in a timely fashion. CompressedAirCorpsTo423rdInf.pdf (161.11 KB) www.facebook.com/groups/106thinfdivassoc
