This is about a free source of maps to download like the ones the 106th used in the battle. For the most part these were slightly updated by the British in 1951. These come from the Brigham Young University library. The link below will take you to the correct web page to download the Recht 5602 map. Just search for the other names or numbers in the search box on the upper right to find the ones you want. Recht 5602, Meyerode 5603, Hallschlag 5604 St. Vith 5702, Bleialf 5703, Prum 5704 Burg Reuland 5802, Leidenborn 5803, Schoeneckin 5804 contentdm.lib.byu.edu/digital/collection/GermanyMaps/search/searchterm/5602IF you want an exact copy of maps used by the 106th some of them are for sale as 600 dpi digital downloads at the Battlefield Historian (England) web page. I purchased the Bleialf map and with the exchange rate it was close to $26.00 American. These maps were updated by the US Army in November of 1944 with info obtained by aerial photography and intelligence. Sheet numbers are the same for both sites. www.battlefieldhistorian.com/gsgs-4414-series-germany-125000.aspTopo maps are great if you want to know how big a town or village was, find railroad tracks, bridges, dirt roads, trails, paths, vegetative cover, etc.
