I am interested in finding any member of 106th Infantry Division ,424 Infantry Regiment, Company F. My Father is PFC Clifford Freilinger. I have gained a lot of info from this site, but have not found any other living members of Company F. I would like to make contact with anyone who was a member of this Company or knows of someone who was and can share information. Thanks, Steve

Steve,
As the + beside your post indicates, at your request, your search for information has also been published in the division's Cub magazine. It can be found on page 31 of the May-August 2009 issue.

Looking to correspond with anyone who might have known my father PFC Harold W. (Bulldog) Martinek, He was with 424th/ F and was wounded at Saint Vith, Belgium. Pfc Martinek was a BAR man. He passed away on Mar. 15, 1986 in AZ. He's buried at Ft. Snelling (V6060) MN.

Time to bring these posts to the top again-- just in case someone recognizes a name.
If you're looking for someone in a particular unit, you might also check out the Site Soldier Index.

I am not sure if it is ok to post this at this location, but need to follow through with things. My Dad Clifford Freilinger passed away February 2012. I apologize that it has taken me so long to put this information forward. We miss him daily. Dad was a quiet, humble hero who lived his life with simple honesty, humility and strength. We will never repay or compare to the individuals like Dad who took up the challenge and shouldered the resposnsibility to insure the life we all enjoy today. Thank you, Dad!

Steve,
Thank you for your beautiful message. My thoughts go out to you. I understand about missing someone more and more as time goes by. I'm sure that others posting here "get it," too.
There is no wrong place to post a meaningful and important note like this. This spot is a good one. I will add some links elsewhere to add to the visibility, starting with the Site Soldier index.
I hope you will continue to stay in touch with your 106th family...
Sincerely, Connie
