My wife of nearly 30 years is John's younger daughter, Janet Atsatt. When we sold the Atsatt family home last year, we found discharge papers, photos, and a Combat Infantryman Badge that John earned as a member of the Golden Lions. I don't know what unit in the 106th he was in, but he was a radioman. We also have his dress uniform jacket, which shows that he was in the 106th and (later?) the 104th Division. If there is any former comrade of John's who has any information about him, please e-mail me at joneswrites@comcast.net. Thanks!

Hi Jeff,
What unit is listed on his discharge papers? This usually states his unit of separation (company, regiment and division) Is the 104th infantry patch on the left or right shoulder of the jacket?
It was pretty common in 1945 for men to transfer from unit to unit, perhaps also to other divisions.
Best regards Carl
