The 106th Roster was completed a few months ago. Since then additional information has been obtained, ans as a result the ROSTER is now being reconstructed. It should be complete (again) in a couple of weeks. IT will be found as before, same links. www.IndianaMilitary.org/106ID/SoThinkMenu/106thSTART.htm(see roster on sidebar) If you spot any errors or can add any information for a member, please let me know. It is only as accurate as the information sent me. Thanks to all for the help. If you had any buddies in the 30th Division, I have also complted their ROSTER. Just click on "30th Division" in the top row followed by "Roster". Jim West www.IndianaMilitary.org------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For Jim...my father's name is not on the roster. 1st Lt. John M. Krol, 106th Div, 422nd Reg/HQ. Officially KIA 12-21-44 at the Battle of the Bulge. CIB, Purple Heart, Silver Star...re-intered 1949 at Pine Lawn National Military Cemetary, Long Island NY. Fred Pilkington, McKinley, and Bill Reisman were his Sgts. J. Wallace, a corporal.

I see him listed in both the DHQ section and the KIA section. The SS and date of death are new to me, but have now been added to the database.

Is there an index somewhere that lists the cross-reference for the "Source" column? For example, my grandfather's information has the number "27" as the source for his information.

Thanks for your question. When I formerly had the roster listed by individual units, I had such a statement, but when I went with the long list, I forgot to include it. A link is now available to obtain the Source List and to add or correct the information. Here is that link ----- www.indianamilitary.org/106ID/Rosters/SOURCEpage.htmSorry for the oversight. Jim West UPDATE FROM CONNIE: The Roster Abbreviations Sources have been moved. Go to the 106th section of the Indiana Military Site & click on Reference List on the side bar: www.indianamilitary.org/106ID/SoThinkMenu/106thSTART.htm

It must be a nightmare to keep the roster current and accurate. I think you are doing a wonderful job with all the improvements and the list itself. Thanks, Jim!

Thanks for the compliments, Roger. They are appreciated. It does take a lot of effort, especially when you see that I also have rosters and history for the 30th Division, German & Italian POWs at Camp Atterbury, and now beginning the 31st Division All were at Camp Atterbury at one time or other. Of course, I wouldn't have any names at all, if it weren't for all the friends sending in their information. So thanks to me must also be "Thanks to ALL !!"

Dear Mr West, I read the roster and think it's a mistake on the date concerning Gaskell Daniel C . Pvt 39209140 . He is K.I.A the 17 december 1944 , at Winterspelt ( Belgian - German border ) . This soldier was 424th Inf Rgt , first Batallion , A company . I research allway to have contact with all veterans who know him during this time . I just went into the Killed In Action list in Jim West's Indiana Military Site Roster. I believe that he added your updated information on Daniel Gaskell. Thank you for your help. Thank you, too, for your caring. Since it looks like you would like contact with anyone who knew Daniel Gaskell, I have also listed this information on this site under "Searching for Comrades" 106thdivision.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=looking&thread=247&page=1Connie
