In a retrospective covering the period around December 19, 1944 my father mentions a "T-5 from B Battery by the name of Oswald" who was with him. Dad was from the Service Battery of the of the 590th. These remnants of the 590th had joined up with the 589th on the 17th of December. So, I'm pretty sure that the B battery Dad referred to was probably that of the 589th. I don't know where "Oswald" went after the first reorganization in January (and I don't have a first name.) But, I know that he was again with the 590th in its Service Battery after the reconstitution of that unit in April.
I know that the chances of finding any of the people remembered in Dad's letters are slim, but nothing ventured... There may be someone out there looking for the mention of this family member. I can tell them where he was on December 19th.

I find two "Oswald's" in the roster I am trying to recreate.
Oswald, Harold C. - No other info except that his service # may begin with "34".
Oswald, Kermit G. - No other info except that his service # may be "1309307.
Sorry nothing more than that. 11,597 entries to date. About half have more info.

Jim,
I just came across another old list of names. You can add a new one to your list. I believe the Oswald I am looking for was Milford T. Oswald...
