To you all.....we members of the WW2 Living History Association this year are embarking on a very special commerative march on the 17th to 19th of December. We are retracing the footsteps of K/424th in particular but a "homage" to the 106th in general so you are truly not forgotten. 30 plus members of our living history unit in authentic WW2 uniforms and equipment are following the roads and wood tracks down the retreat route of the 424th starting at Hekuschied and down over Stien Kopf/Steffenhausen/Burg Reuland/Bracht/Thommen/Grufflingen/Aldingen/Maldingen/Beho/Commanster/Rogery/Salmchateau and into Vielsalm.
There we will lay a wreath on behalf of all those "serving" and those that have passed on to higher service...Golden Lions.
The thursday night will be spent in the field in some of the original 106th foxholes around Maldingen.
we are very honoured to represent the Division and we will do this with complete authenticity and respect for the veterans. Carl W knows of our dedication and we will hope you fully support what we are doing.
We are even taking some of the "new" guys to the unit 2 of them are just 16 years old to represent the teenage replacements of the division amongst us "old salts"
Thanks guys for what you did 65 years ago.You are NOT forgotten
Any comments welcomed.
Kindest Regards
Lloyd Richards (S/sgt 3rd squad leader K/424th US WW2 Living History Association)

Lloyd,
Thank you for posting on your Living History group and the upcoming activities to honor and commemorate the activities of the 424th Infantry Regiment of the 106th Infantry division. I hope you'll post some photos and updates after the event.
I did go to the link you added here. And, I saw Living History activities related to other divisions. But I didn't catch sight of the Golden Lion patch or the activities of your particular segment of the Living History group. Perhaps in the holiday rush I missed something. Should I see something on this opening page or should I look somewhere else?

Thanks, Lloyd,
This is interesting. From the copyright information at the bottom of the Living History site, it appears that at least the web page is based in England. I know there are similar groups in the USA, too. Where do most of the members doing the 424th march hail from?
I deeply appreciate your keeping us posted and updating us on what you are doing.
Sincerely, Connie

Lloyd's group is UK based, but I know that at least there will be 8 members from Belgium and the Netherlands participating in the commemorative march.
Greetings Carl
