Today I received the diary my father kept while he was a POW that my sister discovered among my mother's papers after she passed away and contains a great deal of detail about the day to day life of a POW. Needless to say this a very exciting find and I intend copy it word for word and post it on the Indianamilitary.org website.

Great find. Glad things like these still surface. They're truely historical treasure troves.

Frank,
Please let us know when Jim West posts the diary. It will be good to have that link here.

Jim West posted a copy of my father's diary under Stalag IV-B. It;s missing a couple of pictures, but the content is all there.

Great! Thanks Frank! Earlier some photos and letter excerpts were posted on the Indiana Military site. The newly discovered diary has now been added. The diary can be found on the Indiana Military Site. If you go the the 106th Infantry Division section of the Indiana Military Site, you'll see a search box. www.indianamilitary.org/106ID/SoThinkMenu/106thSTART.htmType in : Kenneth Grant Diary. That should take you to the diary. Thank you so much, Frank, for sharing this piece of your father's story with us.

Connie
Jim West attached the diary onto the end of the letter excerpts that I had submitted in 2007. If you keep scrolling down it will be there.
