Some come to view the site. It can be an interesting place to dig through.
But it becomes even richer with each post. The posts by veterans are treasured by us... While time is running out to add more of these. Thes posts will remain and continue giving...
Please don't wait for a question to come up. If you have something to share that relates to your WWII experience (or that of a family member) it is OK to share an answer before the question is asked. Time is limited and your words are valuable.
If you're wondering where to post, don't sweat it. When in doubt, the General Board always works. If something catches your interest elsewhere, post there. Location may be important in property, but not here. Saying something is what counts.
To all those who have contributed to the site and who will in the future, thank you. You are making this a meaningful message board.

Invisible PostsIf you're keeping up with the site by looking at new posts you may miss a few invisible posts. When I add info to the Site Soldier's Index or the Unit Specific Discussions I may add them to an existing post. So they won't show up as a new post on the board. Today, for example, I added some links to other sites on the lead post about the 589th field Artillery Battalion under Unit Specific Discussions. Because this included info from John Gatens on another site, I also added his name to the Site Soldier's index. None of these posts show up as new postings. The moral of this story is, check the unit of interest in both these spots periodically: Site Soldier's Index 106thdivision.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=indexUnit Specific Discussions106thdivision.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=unit

It bears repeating. This is your site!
The questions and discussions among participants are the heart and soul of this discussion group. Jim West started this board with this in mind.
Since the search capabilities of the board are limited, the Site Soldier Index and the Unit Specific Discussions are two initial "go to's " for finding discussions of interest.
But the board works best when you choose to post your questions or to comment on another post -- even if it is just to say that this is interesting.
