Jack Growth of 422 or 423 Regt of 106 Div.

Does anyone have information on this person? He died in a German Prison Camp of pneumonia in 1945. His age at the time was ca 19 years old.

I have been searching through various files, but his name did not pop up.
No mention of him on NARA's POW records. I only found a Jack Groth of the 28th division who was killed in action in 1945.

Maybe I mis-spelled his name. If this will be of help, Jack was a resident of Gary, Indiana when he was drafted into the Army.

Jack and I attended the same school in 1936 & 1937.

The PFC Jack R Groth I found was in the 112th Infantry Regiment of the 28th division. NARA states he enlisted from Lake County which, if I am not mistaken, is where the town of Gary is located.

He died on January 23rd, 1945 and is buried at the Epinal Military Cemetery in France.
