Yesterday I met with Charles "Chuck" Lowery at Baraque de Fraiture AKA Parker's crossroads in Belgium. He was there attending the ceremony for the unvailing of a new monument there. He was a Sgt in I-Company 424th Regt and fought at Manhay during the Battle of the Bulge and was WIA there.
I'm quite sure that his address can be recieved through the help of John Kline. e-mail: jpk@mm.com
Best regards Carl

My Dad was Ben Bartell, Captain, L Company. Unfortunately, he has passed away, but I remember that he always spoke proudly of the men he served with in the 424th Regiment, 106th Infantry Division.

Captain Ben Bartell 424L: Checking old posts on listed birthdays helps me review what's here and see what needs attention. Today I came on these 3 clustered posts. I think they each deserve their own link. Moving posts was something I'd mastered on this board pre- update. But the process has changed (if it exists) . I don't want to risk losing a post. So I'll have to experiment elsewhere when I have the time... In the meantime, these 3 posts deserve a look. The one that brought me here today was the post on Captain Ben Bartell 424 L. Captains are generally well remembered by their men. Hope someone happens on this who knew him or heard of him from a parent... Connie UPDATE Jim West, when working with the copies of General Orders obtained through an acquaintance photographing these records at the National Archives, he found the following with the award of the Bronze Star for Captain Bartell: www.indianamilitary.org/106ID/Rosters/REFERENCES/1945-078-BS-CMB/278.htm
