I found a PFC Ronald Eldridge who was in Company A of the 423rd Regiment in the alphabetical list for the 106th Division on the Indiana Military.org website. If that sounds like a possibility you could try contacting John Klein through the 106th Division Association website. He keeps a current list of members addresses and may hit it lucky if he is a member. When I inquired about my father Mr. Klein sent me a list of names and addresses of other men from my father's unit that I wrote to and most were kind enough to write back, so you may find something through them.
Good luck in your search. Please post your results if you find him.

Sandy,
For what it's worth, I checked the sources on the Indiana Military Roster for Ron Eldridge's info. There were 2 sources. The first was a Combat Infantry Badge list provided by John Kline and Marion Ray. The second was a list of 423rd POW's compiled by Carl. This shows that Ron spent time at IX B.
The same roster list compiled one data piece at a time by Jim West has you and Ron in different units of the 423rd -- one in A & one in B. I'm guessing that there may be an error here...?
This information is probably not new to you. I doubt it will help in the search. Have you checked with John Kline?

Some time ago I put Sandy in touch with Ron Eldridge's son. I believe his father had been deceased for a few years.

Is it possible to contact Sandy if he knew someone by the name Francis J Casey? Or if probably knew him by Frank or Joe Casey.

I see that Sandlin Gillen and Francis Casey were both in A Company of the 423rd. Good call.
Carl was in touch with Sandy at one time. So that's a possibility. I'll check the board links and get back to you.

I asked Sandy, but am still waiting for his reply. It could be that he did not know him since Sandy was actually in Baker Company, rather than Able.
