Not a picture of the 106th, but rather one of the 4th division troops who retook the area in February 1945. Due to impassible roads they had to call in an air drop. The location is almost exactly the same as where the air drop (that never came) shoudl have taken place for the much needed supplies for the 106th. Note the Schnee Eifel ridge in the background. Indeed. The photo was taken from the Skyline drive towards the Schnee Eifel ridge.
