Mention was made that humor posted on the site should be "G"rated, but I never anticipated that the site's own built in checks on words, would provide a laugh.
As I post links in the site soldier index, frequently the nicknames known to fellow soldiers will be inserted in parenthesis. So uncle Albert is known as (Al). And perhaps something more unusual like (Curly) will hit the listing. No problem.
But recently I posted the link for someone's Uncle Richard. When giving me the name the nephew had logically inserted in parentheses the common nickname for Richard. The site filters did not like that name. So Richard's nickname was translated into "(Thingy)." There's no way the site would let me insert the real nickname.
The nephew said his uncle had a good sense of humor and would have been amused by his new nickname, but I doubt that the new nickname would have been a recognition aid for fellow soldiers.
To all the Richards out there, I apologize with a chuckle. You can't use your standard nickname on this site unless you want it to morph.

I have finally figured out how to remove the nickname for Richard from the censored list. No more chuckles over this one...
