Diana noted this link to the 2003 obituary for a former member of the 106th: cjonline.com/stories/011803/obt_mccall.shtmlHere's a paste of the pertinent portion of the write-up: Theodore George "Bud" McCall Sr., 80, Topeka, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at his home. He served in Co. A. 81st Engineer Battalion in the Army during World War II and was in the Ardennes campaign, the Rhineland and Central Europe. He was held as a prisoner of war from Dec. 18, 1944, to April 27, 1945. He was decorated with the American Theater Ribbon with three Bronze Stars, the Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal. He was discharged at the rank of private first class.
