This division association member who served in the medical battalion passed away in September of 2011. Prior to enrolling at Rutgers, Joseph valiantly served his country in World War II as a proud member of the 106th Infantry Division, 331st Medical Battalion. He was present at the Battle of The Bulge, in which a large number of the 106th were killed or captured. On the 16th of December, 1944, Joseph received the Award of Medical Badge for his role in the European Theater... Throughout his life, Joseph was an active member of the 106th Infantry's Veterans Association, regularly attending local meetings and reunions around the country. He and his oldest grandson traveled to his final reunion 3 years ago in St. Louis.
