(USA) History Channel; 2 hours; Aired December 7, 2012; 9PM Eastern- This is an overview of WWII on all fronts, beginning before America's entry into the war. www.history.com/schedule/12/7/2012?view=day&tz=PTThe sweeping overview had little room for more than a brief mention of the Battle of the Bulge, but it did tackle the context of war from interesting perspectives. John Schaffner from the 106th Infantry Division's Field Artillery was interviewed for this program. His comments retained for this program were general wartime observations on enlistment enthusiasm. They came about 1 hour and 7 minutes into the program. Before he had a chance to see what portions of his interview made the final cut, John referred to his upcoming appearance as, "another 5 seconds of fame." It was nice to see John represented in this documentary,if only briefly. I had no fixed expectations when I watched the program so I was not disappointed. It was an interesting documentary. But I hope they kept the remainder of John's interview for use in future documentaries. As someone who was there throughout the Bulge and at Baraque de Fraiture/ Parker's Crossroads, as division historian, and as a well informed well-spoken man with a good sense of humor John has a lot more of real value to add to a more detailed look at a smaller segment of the war.

Regarding access to streaming or to DVD's of this production for those in other countries, questions to the History Channel brought this reply:
Rachel D., Dec 05 03:42 pm (PST): Hi Connie,
Thanks for getting in touch with us. At the moment, we don't have any international streaming rights for our content, so we're not able to stream outside of the US – but we're looking to get there as quickly as possible. We also don't have to rights to sell or download any of our content at this time.
Before we can, we need to obtain streaming rights for each show and movie in each specific region. We may also need to establish relationships with local advertisers to subsidize our streaming costs, like we do in the US. We might even need new technology partnerships to ensure that content streaming is up to our standards.
It'll take some time, and I don't have a definitive timeline just yet, so thank you for your patience in the meantime. I know you're needing it by the 7th so this doesn't really help you out now but hopefully it may in the future. If there's anything else I can address for you, just let me know. Thanks, Rachel D.
