My Dad, George Washington McCaffrey was in the 422nd during the Battle of the Bulge. My dad was captured and spent about 12 months as a POW.

Do you, by any chance, know the letter name of the company in the 422nd that your Dad was in?

Your Dad's name is on the Indiana Military Site's 106th Infantry Division Roster (a work in progress), but the company within the 422nd was not noted there either:

Your dad's serial number is noted there. If you don't have that it could be useful in tracking down further information.

The Roster also notes that your father earned the Combat Infantry Badge.

He is listed as having been in Stalag IIA during his time as a POW.
