Hi,
Things designed to simplify can also complicate.
You see a message to which you'd like to reply. And, you scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page below that message.
There, awaiting you and labeled "quick reply" is a small box you can type in. Simple! But, this is a small box. Beware if you're contemplating a message that might be larger than that box. Your message may end up split in two at some random midpoint and posted in two different reply boxes, with the end of the message posted before the first part.
So, if you're contemplating more than a very brief reply, ignore the "quick reply box. Above this box, at the edge of the string of posts, is a colored line (currently blue) with a couple of options to the left & a cluster of other options to the right.
The second option in the cluster to the right is the word "reply." Just click on this and a large, expandable box will appear. Type away without fear of being garbled by the site. You can do a short or long reply here. It makes no difference.
When you complete your typing, remember to scroll down by using the arrows at the far edge and bottom of the site screen (not the ones at the side of the typing box) to find the options to "Post Message" "Preview" , etc. When you're satisfied with your post, just click on "post a message."
Happy posting!
