If you could see and understand the heart and soul of a front line soldier his feelings about war would be something like the following emotions. “Take a mixture of fear, anger, hunger, thirst, exhaustion, disgust, loneliness, homesickness and wrap it up in one assortment then you will probably approach the sentiments a Soldier has concerning war. It makes you seem mighty small, helpless and alone. - - - - Without faith, in God, how can anyone stomach the hell of WAR?”
