I'm Xavier Bryche. I have 46 years old. I live in Picardy, at the North of France. I'm married and I have an eleven years old son.
I don't correctly speak and write English . I hope you excuse me .
In November 2010, I bought a jeep that belonged to friends now deceased. They have bought it just after the war, between 1946 and 1948. It served, at the beginning, as personal car and after as a tow truck, until about 1970. Then, this car was stored in a garage. At the beginning, I just wanted repair the car, in memory of my friends.
But rapidly, at the beginning of its restoration, I was pleasantly surprised to discover its military markings, under several layers of paint. This jeep belonged to the 106th Infantry Division, 424th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Battalion headquarter company. It was the sixth vehicle in the column.
The hood number is 20618564-S. At the left side of the jeep, there is the inscription "SNOOKY", on the right side it's writing "ANNABEL".
Today, the restoration of this vehicle is almost complete. I have restore it like it's was most probably at the end of the war, in memory of the soldiers of the 106th Division and especially the 424th Infantry Regiment.
My Interests pertain to general story of the 106th and more especially the 424th IR. And why not, identify some veterans who drove or used this jeep or just can help me to discover its route and its story.
I can transfer more jeep restoration information by email.
