Hello everyone. A few months back while surfing the web for 106th info I came across a few pages of historical information by the 424th Regimental Historian Capt. Roy D Underwood. Has anyone else ran across anything written by this gentlemen. I know that most of the records may have been destroyed but its worth a shot. Recently I was able to obtain a copy of over 200 pages written by the battalion historian from one of my uncles battalions so you never know.
Thanks and hope everyone is doing well, Don

Don,
This is an interesting find. I have not run across anything but hope that maybe someone else has...

I am going to try to attache the web sight where I found this information. www.62vgd.de/It is a German Web site about the 62nd VGD in the BOB. It has some very good personel accounts and some after action reports from the 424th. On the side bar click on "424th Faced the 62nd VGD" then at the bottom click on "Part 7". This is the one page by Capt. Roy Underwood. I noticed there is a Roy Underwood on the roster also. I emailed the site creator and he could not remember where the report by R. Underwood came from.

Thanks, Don,
I'll go looking. I have seen the VGD site. It's a good one. There was some post war communications between the site manager and some members of the 106th at one point.
Like minds... I checked out the Indiana Military Site Roster, too (and added the name to the discussion board's Site Soldier Index with a link to your post). If I recall correctly the post noted a Combat Infantry Badge listing as the source, but that source is not clickable...
I'll try to keep my eyes open. Please let us know if you find anything... I did check out my copy of The Cub of the Golden Lion Passes in Review to see if he was one of the sources of 424th accounts there. No luck.
Happy 4th! I'm a parade judge this AM. It's a wonderful, wacky little parade. Should be fun!
